Who we are

Tuitionly runs the Tuitionly mobile app and this website. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the app, why we use it and the choices you have.

Information we collect

When you use the app

Account details: your name, phone number, email address and profile photo or cover photo, if you add them.
Learning preferences: your class, the subjects you want to study, your budget and the times that suit you.
Location: your address and, if you choose, a place on the map or your phone’s current location, used to find tutors or students near you.
Your activity: tutors you save, requirements and offers, bookings, tuitions, reviews and support tickets.
Messages: the messages, photos, files and voice notes you send in chat.
Payments: if you buy connects, the plan, amount and payment status. Payment details are entered with the payment provider, not given to us.
Device and app information: a notification token for your device, and technical reports when the app has an error.

If you are a tutor

Profile details: your education, experience, subjects, fee, availability, gender and date of birth.
Verification documents: your citizenship and qualification certificates. Only our team uses these, to review your profile. They are not shown to students.

How we use it

To match students and tutors, and show results near you.
To run bookings, schedules, chats, calls, reminders and notifications.
To review tutors’ documents and keep the service safe, including looking into reports of misuse.
To answer support requests and fix problems.
To send service messages and, where allowed, news and offers. You can manage these in the app’s settings.
To understand how the service is used, so we can improve it.

Who can see your information

Other users: tutors you contact or book can see your name, photo and the details needed for the tuition. A tutor’s public profile can be seen by people using the app. Reviews are visible to others.
Service providers: companies that help us run the service, such as hosting and file storage, email and text message delivery, phone notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging), maps, GIF search in chat, and payment providers (eSewa and Khalti). They use your information only to provide their service.
Authorities: if the law requires it, or if we need to protect someone’s safety.

We do not sell your personal information.

Children

Many of the students we serve are under 18. A parent or guardian should create and manage the account of a younger student, or give their permission for the student to use the app. If you believe a child has given us information without permission, please contact us and we will help.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep your information while your account is active. You can edit your profile at any time, deactivate your student or tutor profile, or delete your account. We may keep some records after that where we need to, for example to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or prevent fraud.

Security

We use measures such as encrypted connections and restricted access to protect your information. No online service can promise complete security, so please keep your phone and one-time codes private.

This website

This website does not use cookies, advertising trackers or analytics, and has no forms. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply. The company hosting the site may keep standard technical logs.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will change the date on this page and, for important changes, let you know in the app.
