Terms and conditions

1. Using Tuitionly

Tuitionly helps students and parents in Nepal find home tutors, and helps tutors find students. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree on your behalf.

2. What Tuitionly is, and is not

Tuitionly connects students and tutors. Tutors are independent and are not our employees or agents. Any tuition arrangement is between the student or parent and the tutor. We do not guarantee any tutor’s availability or teaching quality, or any exam result.

3. Your account

Please give accurate information about yourself. You are responsible for keeping your phone, email and one-time codes private, and for what happens on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.

4. Connects and payments

Connects let you call, message and book tutors. During our launch period, these actions cost no connects. When that changes, we will tell you in the app before you are charged. Purchased connects are valid for the period shown on the plan, and are not refundable once used. Payments for connects are handled by eSewa or Khalti.

5. Tuition fees

Tuition fees are agreed directly between the student or parent and the tutor. Tuitionly does not collect them, and is not responsible for disputes about them.

6. Appointments and cancellations

Please cancel a session as early as you can. Tutors are told when you cancel a session or end a tuition. Repeated missed sessions may limit your ability to book.

7. Tutors

If you offer tuition on Tuitionly, you confirm that your profile, qualifications and documents are genuine and that you are legally able to work with students. We may review, reject or remove a profile. Advertising your profile through the app is optional, and is charged as shown in the app when you start an ad.

8. Reviews and conduct

Reviews and messages must be honest and respectful. You must not harass anyone, share false information, use the app for anything illegal, or try to disrupt the service. We may remove content that breaks these rules, including reviews that are abusive, misleading or unrelated to a tuition.

9. Safety

Please take sensible care when arranging tuition. Meet a tutor before classes begin, and make sure an adult is at home for younger students. Tell us about any behaviour that worries you through Help & Support or by reporting a profile. In an emergency, contact the police.

10. Suspending or closing accounts

You can deactivate a profile or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that puts other people or the service at risk.

11. The service

We work to keep Tuitionly running well, but it may sometimes be unavailable, and features may change. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for what happens between students and tutors outside our service.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and will let you know in the app when something important changes. Continuing to use Tuitionly means that you accept the updated terms.
